The Sauna Culture — Visitor Handbook
Our house etiquette: walk-in policy, session timing, sauna and cold plunge usage, payment, memberships.
Sauna Culture comes with a few simple guidelines — house etiquette that keeps the experience good for everyone in the room. None of it is complicated. Most of it is what you'd hope for from any quiet shared space.
Check-in and preparation
Arrive 5–10 minutes before your booking. Sign in at the front desk, grab towels and a locker key. First-time visitors get a quick orientation. Take a brief rinse before entering the sauna.
Walk-in and waitlist policy
We accept walk-ins when capacity allows. If we're full, we'll put you on the waitlist and text you when a spot opens — usually within an hour during weekdays. We don't oversell the room.
Your session
Most visits are 90 minutes. Plan on three to five rounds: 12–15 minutes in the sauna, 30 seconds to 3 minutes in a cold plunge, 3–5 minutes resting. There's no clock you have to follow — settle into your own rhythm.
Sauna usage
Voices stay low. Phones stay in the locker. Pour water on the stones cooperatively — a quick ask of the room before adding löyly is the norm. Sit on a towel (we provide them) regardless of bench height. If the room is full, the lower benches are the polite choice for shorter rounds.
Cold plunge usage
Rinse off before entering. Three individual basins at three temperatures — beginner, intermediate, advanced. Pick the dose that fits your day. Stay 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Step out gracefully; we have hooks for towels just outside.
General space
The lounge is for the rest phase between rounds. Quiet conversation is welcome. Food is not (water is fine). Phones discouraged but not policed — use judgment.
Pausing or canceling a membership
Memberships are month-to-month and can be paused at any time. Message us before your next billing date. No re-enrollment fee when you restart. Cancel anytime — no annual contract.
Payment and refunds
Bookings are paid at the time of reservation. Cancellations more than 24 hours out are fully refundable. Within 24 hours, we'll move the booking to credit on your account rather than refund. Day passes are non-refundable but transferable.
If anything's unclear when you arrive, the front desk is the answer. We'd rather you ask than guess.
