About Sauna Culture
Sauna Culture exists because Charlotte didn’t have a real Finnish sauna. Plenty of infrared studios. Plenty of recovery brands. Not many places where the wood is hot, the stones are real, the löyly hits the way it’s supposed to, and the cold plunge afterward is actually cold.
We’re a small, locally-owned studio in Cotswold — one room, one traditional Finnish sauna, three individual cold plunges at three different temperatures, and one private suite for when you’d rather have the whole experience to yourself.
What we’re trying to do
Build a sauna and bathhouse practice that holds up over years, not days. The research on regular sauna use — the Finnish cohort studies, the cardiovascular work, the longevity data — isn’t built on people who hop into a heated box once a month for the photos. It’s built on people who go 3–4 times a week for 20 years. The whole place is designed to make that easy.
Memberships you can pause without penalty. Open early enough and late enough to fit a real week. A waiting list that texts you so you don’t hover at the door. Cold plunges included with every visit so “the deluxe package” doesn’t exist. Quiet shared spaces with grown-up etiquette. A private suite when the shared format isn’t what you need today.
What makes us different
- Traditional Finnish heat, not infrared. Real stove, real stones, real löyly. Higher temperatures than infrared, real steam, real cardiovascular response.
- Individual cold plunges, three temperatures. Not one big shared tub. Beginner-friendly, intermediate, and advanced — dose the cold to your day.
- Cold plunge included with every visit. Not an upsell. Not a premium tier. Sauna and cold are one practice, not two.
- Private suite when you want it. A full-loop room — salt sauna, private shower, dedicated cold plunge — for couples, small groups, or first-timers who want privacy.
- Cotswold, walkable. A real neighborhood bathhouse, not a strip-mall recovery box.
